Nutrition and Cancer

Recently, I’ve been working closely with a Certified Specialist in Oncology and personally diving into some oncology (the fancy word for “cancer”) nutrition. I’ve found too much useful information to not share!

Information from the internet on specific foods and their relationship to different cancers is so many things… interesting, controversial, misleading, and overall confusing. After all, who do you trust to go to for correct information?

The best sources that I recommend for you or your loved one for prevention or management of any and all cancers are the following:

  1. American Institute for Cancer Research
  2. American Cancer Society
  3. Oncology DPG

*Click on each of the above sources to visit each organization’s website*

The information you will find on these three websites is useful, easy to understand, and up to date with current research. These organizations interpret the data for you and go so far as to tell you what specific foods to eat based on the strength of the evidence found in research showing the relationship between the properties of specific foods to cancer – either decreasing or increasing the risk.
