Honestly, Earth Day is definitely one of my FAVORITE holidays! Everyone gets on the same page for the day and thinks about the earth. What people do for the earth today (and everyday) varies. I love Earth Day because people around me seem to share the same mindset that I have year-round! It seems every other day of the year I’m labeled as a “tree hugger” or “hippie.” I used to dislike that. Now, I boldly carry the title throughout my entire lifestyle!

Why choose Eco-friendly?

I am both humble and proud of my purchasing and lifestyle choices because they are earth-friendly. Earth-friendly choices fulfill our civic duty to take care of the earth. The same earth that provides each and every one of us with food eat and clean air to breathe.

How to make Earth Day choices every day?

Where do I even start making changes?

Growing up, I remember planting a tree for a few consecutive years for Earth Day. While planting a tree it a great Earth Day tradition and it’s possible to plant a tree 365 days of the year, it’s improbable.

Good news! You can make little changes each and every day that have a huge impact on our earth’s health and saves you money!

First of all, you don’t need to throw out things that aren’t earth-friendly. That’s kind of defeating the purpose. Instead, wait until they are used up, then decide if you’ll reuse

Have your mind set on reusing, refusing single-use items, shifting away from using plastic, gifting experiences instead of things and purchasing fewer things!

***Notice how I didn’t say recycling? Recycling does help reuse some of the items we are done with; however, most of the items we recycle don’t end up getting used. Also, it’s not the most efficient process.***

Doing these things can be rewarding in more ways than you can imagine! For me, I feel better because I’m eating produce items instead of premade and packaged food, I have more space in our home, I am proud and feel I am doing the right thing for the earth, I (in ‘I,’ I mean my husband) makes fewer trips to the dumpster and recycling, and we save at least $240 per month.
